Treatment with Braces:
Treatment with braces involves the use of metal brackets and wires to straighten and align teeth, improve bite, and enhance overall dental health. The brackets are bonded to the teeth, and the wires are attached to them. These wires are tightened periodically, applying gentle pressure to the teeth, which gradually moves them into their correct positions.
Braces are typically worn for a period of 18 to 24 months, although the duration of treatment can vary depending on the severity of the dental problem. During this time, the patient must attend regular appointments with their dentist to have the braces adjusted and ensure that the treatment is progressing as planned. In addition to the brackets and wires, some patients may also need to wear additional appliances, such as rubber bands or headgear, to help correct more severe alignment issues.
Treatment with braces can address a variety of dental issues, including crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. The goal of treatment is to improve the function and appearance of the teeth and jaws, making them easier to clean and reducing the risk of dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.
While braces may be uncomfortable at first, most patients adjust to them quickly and find that the benefits of treatment far outweigh any temporary discomfort. In addition, modern braces are smaller and less noticeable than ever before, making them a popular choice for patients of all ages who want to improve their dental health and achieve a beautiful, confident smile.
The Invisalign® treatment system differs from traditional braces in that NO traditional wires are fixed to your teeth. The teeth are moved by wearing a set of removable clear "aligner trays" throughout the treatment. In other words, a different set of aligner trays will be worn every week until the desired results are attained.
